love in london the complete trilogy Reviews
A wonderful trilogy of love and romance !I was first exposed to this trilogy by reading Coming Down as a standalone story. I was so in love with Beth and Niall, and was intrigued by Lara and Alex. Therefore I found it a great thill that Lara and Alex's story was to be showcased in Broken Chords. In Coming Down, I was enamored with the story of two soulmates reuniting after years apart. Even though Beth is now married to older man , they soon realize that the love that they shared never died. I love the sensitive and realistic look into the lives of these two. Though not always perfect, they are perfect for each other, proving that true love never dies! We were introduced to Lara and Alex in Coming Down, and got a glimpse of their love and commitment to each other. However, we also got a glimpse of the fact that although they were truly committed to each other, there could be trouble in paradise. In Broken Chords , happily ever after is tested by ambition, parenthood, interference, and just everyday life. A very realistic look into what could jeopardize a relationship if the lines of communication are not kept open. Alex is given a wonderful opportunity to pursue his musical career , which conflicts with Lara's needs while battling postpartum depression. When their baby Max falls ill, interference from outside forces threatens and already strained situation, and almost threatens their marriage. It's a good thing that love would not be denied. I was surprised when I began Canada Square, because I thought it would be a story on Alex's older sister, Andrea and his neighbor. Instead we got a story of his younger sister, Amy, and her new boss, Callum. I should add that this is a very pleasant surprised! Being the baby of the family myself, I felt a connection with Amy that was stronger than what I experienced with the characters of the first two books. As the baby, you are often coddled and protected from the unpleasantness of the world around you. At the same time, you want everyone to realize you are an adult, and offended by the notion that they continue to not see you as such. That was Amy's plight, coupled with the fact that her bastard of a boyfriend constantly made her feel inferior. Luckily, she wised up and dumped the bastard, and soon discovered that she was attracted to her new boss. Callum didn't treat her as the flighty princess her family believed her to be, or try to stomp on her confidence like the bastard. He truly saw her as a confident, beautiful woman. Though a tough non- fraternization clause made them hide their pending love from all, it was soon evident that it cannot be denied. That was the common me throughout this trilogy, the theme that made me give this whole series 5 wonderful, excited stars!
