I chose to read this book because I suffer with agoraphobia, severe anxiety and depression all of which lead me to being stressed every single day. It’s a constant battle. Though I have great support, I would still like the ability to be able to manage my stress levels (at least) better. I found this book to be a very interesting read. It contains a lot of good information, and techniques that I will certainly be trying out. I do, on occasion practice breathing techniques, not as often as I should though. But, after reading this I will be working on that more. Meditation is something I have never been able to do – my mind seems to be far too active. Again, I will be working more on that too. There are six lessons in this book, with lots of information about each to help you through them. This is a book that I will be keeping close by and reading often and one that I would recommend to others.
Having suffered from anxiety for most of my adult life, I was very pleased that I received this from Goodreads as a Giveaway book. While I found many positive suggestions in the 6 steps, I became slightly overwhelmed with the unnecessary details. If you are a person with patience, this book is for you.
Very detailed but easy to understand. Lots of good information to help improve our lives and reduce stresses.
Quite a detailed account by Duvall for how to rid yourself of chronic stress mode to living with contented gratitude, a good read.
