Playing in the NHL and for the New York Rangers had been my dream since I was six years old when my dad took me to my first game. Hockey was my life. It consumed me. It was the one thing in life that I could commit to. Relationships were a no. Sex with beautiful women and no strings attached were a yes. I was a bachelor—happy and living the dream. Then the accident happened and the doctors told me I’d never play hockey again. My life went to shit in the blink of an eye. All hope and the will to live was gone: until Brooke Alexander walked into my life.I was hired to help Logan Jackson get back on the ice. I had rules. Rules he needed to follow if he was going to play hockey again. He was stubborn, defiant and nothing I couldn’t handle. Rehabilitation was going to be difficult and pure hell. I had to break him in order to help him. I knew what it was like to have your dreams taken away and I was determined to give him his dream back, even if it meant losing him....

FALLOS A EXPONER:Fallo #1. ¿estáis intentando volverme loca a propósito?Fallo #2. Fallo #3. El accidente de Brooke. A ver...

DNF @ 15%I'm surprised I even made it past 5%.Logan, the "H" is kind douchebag. A childish douchebag. I don't think I've been this disgusted by a H in a while. The banter between him and his boys was ludicrous. Nauseating. Let me share some samples:"Take off your bra and show me your tits."And the same broad he so nicely asked for a view replied after taking off his pants: "Nice dick."Then this "sexy" (not) imagery: Pulling a condom from my wallet, I slipped it on and crammed myself inside of her. Then when he tries to steer his best friend to lay off going out for one night and come have pizza and beer with him back at his place, his best friend responds: "Sure. Sounds good, but I was hoping to get laid tonight."Then after a win, our "H" communicated: "Come on; let's get out of here, go get drunk, and find some hot chicks to fuck. My dick is screaming for a little attention."Oh and when an accident happens, (view spoiler)[ he's more distraught over the end of his career rather than the fact that his best friend got killed in the accident and his dumb ass survived. (hide spoiler)]Then, the nightmare that he is... what really made me just throw my hands up: "I DON'T CARE IF IT'S NOT TIME YET! (for his pain meds) YOU BETTER GET ME MY FUCKING PILL OR ELSE, YOU STUPID BITCH!"There was NOTHING even remotely alluring to make me want to go on. This was really a joke (sorry!). Maybe the douche changes - who knows? And for the brief like 3 seconds we meet the "h", I already judged her and didn't like her because to think that there was any kind of HEA to this story made me sick to my stomach.I don't mind the arrogant "H". I don't mind the manwhore "H" with good reason. But for you to be a complete, disrespectful, mind-numbing, childish d*ckwad - all in the first 15% of the book?No gracias!!!!!! This was surprisingly a light read even though from the blurb I expected it to be a lot more depressing. If you like sports romance books, believe in alternative medicine and miracles, than this is a book for you.It is rare that I like more the heroine than the hero but that happened here :)"You’re afraid people won’t accept you anymore because you can’t play hockey. But what you don’t seem to understand is that people won’t forget you. This accident changes nothing. It doesn’t the change the man you are inside; the person you were before you played hockey. It’s time to get back out in the world, Logan."“Am I a bunch of bullshit? Modern medicine failed me when I was fourteen years old. Modern medicine gave up on me. Yet here I stand today, in front of all of you, when I was never supposed to get out of a wheelchair. So you can take your false hope and shove it up your ass.”While reading I thought the whole time that this would be a good book for a movie :D

So I picked this book up after reading a darker romance and a book that had cheating in it... so I really was looking for a sweet and easy romance. Something to shake off the last reads and allow me to hit a reset button. Sadly, this was not the book to do that. I found myself wanting to put it down within the first 5% I pushed through, I did see it through to the end, but that was more out of stubborn will than anything else. I have loved prior books from this author, but something just felt off about this whole book. A few examples:(view spoiler)[Chapter one – next opponent is show as LA Kings, a few pages later in chapter two (and no other game took place) they are suddenly playing the Washington Capitals. This bothered me from the start. I could not shake this. Bar sex... “You sure know how to satisfy a woman.” ... this scene consisted of six sentences of grunts and moans. It was not sexy or hot. I doubt it was satisfying to the random bar chick.(hide spoiler)]I am not an overly picky reader. But this was just missing that ‘draw you into the story’ feel. I felt like a lot of the story was just bullet points. The meat of the story was just missing. Even when we hit the emotional parts of his accident, the loss of his ability to play hockey... the idea of ending it all – none of those parts really had any feeling to them. But I did finish the book. I did want to see if the cocky (who really came across as an asshole more than anything else) could be sweet. And I do love an asshole character – but I need them to be charismatic. Cocky and confident is fine, but I really need to see that as endearing and not off putting and with Logan, so much of him was just crass than anything else. This one just didn’t work for me at all.

I loved loved loved this book!!!! this author needs to write more books about hockey players because she checked it to the board!!! I loved this story from cover to cover and totally recommend it!! yes its not your typical love story where everything goes smoothly, but the slow build up makes it worth it!!!

Logan necesitaba una Brooke en su vida. Fin. Please Sandi book that, you think?

No me agrado.

Life and love"Lightning" Logan Jackson, spent his life on the ice playing Hockey. When Logan, was a kid his dad took him to his first Hockey game "The Rangers" and Logan, new from that moment on what he wanted to do when he grew up. When Logan's, mom died when he was just a teen and his father shut down, his aunt and uncle stepped in and made sure that he got to every practice and stay on track with school. When Logan, career took off and his dreams of becoming an NHL player for the NEW York Rangers, came to fusion, he declared that he had no time for commitment and relationship, his focus was the ice and driving that focus to be the best was anger...towards his dad. After a win on the ice Logan and his bestfriend, decides to hangout as there usual when they ended up in an accident that leaves bestfriend dead and Logan, not able to play hockey again and barely able to walk without some type of assistance. Angry about his situation he shuts down and everyone out. Besides his brothers Logan, chases everyone away including his nurses until his brother brings a physical therapist to move in and help with Logan's therapy...that's when Logan discovers what lightning is really all about. Brooke, walked into his bedroom to introduce herself and in spite of the way she did things to his mind and body, he still was angry and mean to her, so she told the brothers and other family, that they had to leave and not contact or reach out to him. Hesitant about her direction they gave in and allowed her to do her job. Can Brooke pull Logan out of his anger about losing his bestfriend and his life long dream?

Lightning by Sandi Lynn is a stand-alone novel. Lightning is about an arrogant professional hockey player who suddenly has his entire sense of worth taken from him and his journey to finding himself again. It is a fast and emotional read that hooked me from the first page.Hockey was all Lightning Logan wanted to commit to and it was everything to him. Women were only a way to fill a need. No commitment, no strings. Logan lived for hockey and when his ability to play was taken away; he took his anger out on everyone around him. He was consumed by self-pity and anger. It took one determined woman to knock him on his ass and open his eyes and give him the will to live again. Watching this unfold in the story was fantastic!Brooke was a physical therapist hired by Logan’s brother to get him back on the ice and playing again. She was as stubborn as Logan and was determined he was going to play by her rules. She knew better than anyone what it was like to lose your dream and she wasn’t going to let Logan give his up.You will fall in love with both Brooke and Logan and how they just go together in spite of how incredibly stubborn they both are. There were times I laughed out loud and other times that I wanted to cry. You always know you are going to get pure love and emotion in all of Sandi Lynn’s books. Lightning was definitely a 5 star read for me.

Amazing Wow Sandi has done it yet again with her amazing stories. This is a story on the amazing NHL hockey player Lightning Logan Jackson. Logan had his life turned up side down when her was involved in a car accident that claimed his best friend and teammate Tommy. Doctors said he will never play ice hockey again. He was giving up on it until one day his brother Brandon crossed paths with physical therapist Brooke. Brooke never heard of Logan before so she took the job in New York and left California. It was a tough ride for Logan with his rehabilitation because he was always angry so his nurses kept quitting on him. When Brooke came to him she wasn't taking any crap from him no matter how much he pushed her.But when he realised he wasn't pushing Brooke away he began to have feelings for her he liked her from when he seen her first but didn't pursue till later.Brooke had a tough ride when she was fourteen her and her mother were in a serious car accident something similar to Logan and was paralysed from the waist down and doctors told her she would never walk again until she met Woo a healer. I could tell so much more on this excellent book but I won't ruin it but I would recommend this book to anyone.

Together, they fight the impossible and make miracle. This is the story of a wounded hockey player, Logan Jackson and his therapist, Brooke Alexander. When Logan injured in a car accident that took the life of his friend and left him unable to play hockey again, that's what the doctor say, it turn his world upside down.Enter Brooke Alexander, the therapist, who suffer much alike past than Logan thought.I love the aura of reading this book. I always love Sandi Lynn but I admit that I wasn't always put high rating to her books, but this book, I love the simple and sweet and I love the aura that surround this book. Same aura that surround her another book : Forever Black, and I love that book oh-so-much!It was an obvious love story, nothing new and nothing a blast in it, but the simple plot and the sweetness bring me down to my knees, my knees mean, I couldn't put it down till the very last page.Shhtt....I love their bed-room-scenes so well. It was hottity-HOT!!!

Logan's life has always been about hockey and hooking up. When an accident keeps him out of the game he feels like his life is over. Brooke is hired as his physical therapist but is she up to the challenge of getting him back on the ice. YES! she is. She doesn't put up with his whining or is bad temper. She stands up to him and makes him do stuff for himself instead of doing it for him. Logan's pity party is coming to an end if Brooke has anything to do about it. She will put him to the test to see if he has what it takes to get his career back.I enjoyed this book for the most part. It was an easy read and was able to finish in one setting. I got a little fed up with Logan's hateful attitude. As for Brooke she had been through something awful that she was regretting so for her to jump right into bed with Logan was disappointing. Didn't she learn from her past mistakes. He was her client and she should have struggled with the situation but it was no big deal. It would have made the story interesting if she was fighting her feelings with her duty as his PT. That was a disappointing part of this book.

Good in between readYou know how you just finished a series, or the next book in a series is releasing tomorrow and you just want something to read till then. Or if you just don't know what to read. Or if you read something with a cliffhanger and you want to chuck your Kindle at the wall. Or really if you just want a good book to read this one is for you. So we start off with Logan. He has it all or so he thinks. He's top of his game, he has fame, money and his pick of woman. Until he loses it all. What does a man do when he's at the top and falls. He hits a lot of crap on the way down and drags everyone close to him with him. So a desperate family finds Brooke. She's his rope to hold onto and climb back to the top. Can she help him or does she snap and he falls back down. And can he stand the pressure and expectations of those around him. Sandi did a good job of bringing us into the story and we feel their pain, joy and love. And was a great read with the potential of more books. But not leaving us with a cliffhanger.

This one is just for you Sandi!God! What a great book! You did it again! This is definitely another winner! What can I say? I love these two.. actually... it's more like these 4 :D no, wait... it's 5!!!!! (Brooke, Logan, Brandon, Owen and Nathan) I really liked how much Logan grew up during book! At the beginning I can't say I hated him, up I was NOT a fan! But Sandi, you sure made me change my mind about him (and his brothers too)! So thank you for that too! I'm kinda proud of them (all of them), I mean it's not just kinda, I AM actually proud of them!

1.5 starsThe heroine is an interesting character and likeable. He's just a creep, a self absorbed one, but that's pretty standard fare so not too much of an issue. The story is interesting bit different. I've liked other Sandi books just not this oneThe problems include:Knowing he's a complete man slut and shags anybody he doesn't use a condom with the h and isn't bothered and doesn't seem to think it's somehow specialHe lets an ex kiss him long enough for his current girl friend to watch but blames the ex. Completely no respinsibiltyI'm well up for non traditional medicine but to think it can routinely cure broken spines and damaged nerves is simply insulting esp as they only consulted one doctor. And with all that damage to his leg and given his career one doc and no surgery? Good god it's more than a miracle His attitude to grief is just silly And I could go on
