The Station Master: A Scheduled Death Reviews
I received a handful of paperbacks from a friend who asked me to read them and pass them along ...I started with this one because I saw the story took place mostly in Lisle, IL (a Chicago suburb) so I thought this would be a good hook. It's seems to be the 3rd in a series -- new mystery with an ongoing character story line. I ended up skimming my way through it; the style did not really appeal to me. There is always a balance to be struck in these types of stories; but this one had very little mystery but way too much personal drama and a lot of me-me-me ... aside from the fact that the core characters have had previous adventures. I will not be seeking out the previous books, but if you are looking for a very light quick read, a very chatty writing style with some local flavor, this might be the book for you.
MY "other mother" gave me this, and i wanted to like it if only for her, but i just could not:( first off, it had a lot of formatting and editing issues, which i have little patience for. But then there was too much going on in the story (mystery, relationships, kids, ....), and i didn't really like any of the characters. and i found Ric (a love interest) to be soo disrespectful to her! Unfortunately, just bad all a round:S
This book was pretty good. I liked some parts of it, but there was more that got on my nerves so I can only give it three stars. I did sympathize with the main character finding out about her husband's son. Overall, it was a decent mystery!

the setting and mystery were interesting but the main character bursts into tears every few pages. that became very tiresome after awhile.
