I really wanted to rate this one higher, but a couple of things prevented me from doing that. Here are my two biggest issues: Several instances and things go unexplained like (view spoiler)[the glass dildo replicated from the prince's penis. (hide spoiler)] I also felt that the hero didn't feel strongly enough for the heroine. Looking back, his love for her was a joke. He was hot one minute and cold the next. He mentions that he went through so much and sacrificed so much for her, but I don't see that. There is no mention of what he sacrificed or what effects his sacrifices have caused. (view spoiler)[What was the whole Princess Letticia political betrothal about if he truly loved Jillian? They wanted his country's help. He actually sends the Princess back and ends the betrothal once Jillian has been assaulted (after he treated her like trash), but there is no mention of the repercussions of breaking the betrothal. So, why didn't he fight for his love to begin with instead of waiting till he almost lost her a second time? (hide spoiler)]

This book infuriated me. I hardly *ever* give negative reviews. But I need to write this one. A romance novel that involves raping someone into submission (which turns into love?) is not okay. Calling someone "property" and genuinely meaning it is not okay. (There isn't even a year/setting for this story to call it historically accurate.) Forcing your "whore" (<- as he calls her near the end) to wear a COLLAR is not okay. Parading her around the palace forcing her to quote "feel humiliated," is not okay. When the heroine says she is being treated like a "pet" and is drugged/has *all* of her food spiked so that she is at the prince's mercy/is primed for him, IS NOT OKAY!!! If this book were not a romance novel, I would not have read these lines of dialogue, actions, or scenes in this manner. While they are brutal and harsh, they could be viewed differently in another genre. In a romance novel, this is NOT OKAY!EXAMPLE from the book:She froze, her head lowered as her shoulders trembled suspiciously. She was crying."You may lie on your stomach." She did as he asked, laying face down, her head turned away from him. He started at her...Also, apologizing for raping someone DOES NOT MAKE IT OKAY!

So from the blurb, you kinda get an idea of how things go. So in your mind, you set a scenario up or at least I did. Anyway, this story took a twist that I should have saw coming. I don't normally read historical romance books unless there's something in the blurb that hooks me, this book hooked me. I'm not even sure what it was but I wanted to read this book. The prince and Jillian have a history but she never thought he would pick her to be his plaything. She has responsibilities and marriage to be ready for. Seeing as he's the prince, she has no choice but to say yes to him. This book takes on a whole other level now, the prince starts growing feelings and stands on his own two feet. He also shows his true compassion for Jillian and helps her heal as well. This was a sweet romance, minus a few parts of crazy people trying to ruin their happiness, and I truly enjoyed reading this book. ~i was given this book for an honest review~

This was a enjoyable but predictable read. If you've read the synopsis you can probably guess where this book is going and I got what I was expecting. It was nicely done, there was an attempt at a twist, and slight more steamy scenes that I would have liked, but I should have expected that I think looking back at the synopsis now.

I had conflicting emotions about this book. I enjoyed it but I loathed it. While reading this book I was filled with myriad of conflicting emotions so I guessing that is a plus on the author's part. There was indeed a happy ending but I felt irritated at the way we finally arrived there and was sorely annoyed at the hero because he just came across as a petulant child.

Collared This book had some good sexy point, but for me I found the "Prince"emotionally abusive to point of being cruel. So ,if you are into selfish, self centered, self-indulgent to point of being sociopath this "Prince" is for you .The ending didn't make up for labor it took to finish reading the book. Well written enough to make me feel uneasy for the Collared suffragette.

For mature audiencesThis is the story of Prince Maximilian and Jillian, the woman he has chosen to be his concubine. The book would have benefited greatly from the services of an editor or proofreader.87

Well, this book made me rather uncomfortable but at the same time, it kept me completely enthralled. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this book, but thankfully there was a HEA. This was just a really unusual read.

The prince!!This was a great read that I finished rather quick but it left me wanting more. This author is new to me and I thought the story flowed very well and only a few misspelled words but nothing bad.

DividedThe story is quite simple. But it has impact. It's a page turner and all along different deep feelings came up for me. I was mostly irritated, then touched, then exceeded, then happy and not in this order.I give that to the author she found a way to make the reader squirm and be stressed during the read because in the same time I tried to remind me it should have a HEA. With some people (author) we never know what kind of definition an HEA should be.So in the mean time I liked the prince for his deep and profound passion for her, he annoyed the hell out of me. He is kind of a very troubled man. He doesn't know if he wants to punish her or to make love to her or just used her. And the fact that he take measure without consulting her about her fate, make the independent woman in me reared back and roar and just want to smack him, but he kind of "redeemed" himself at the end, and I try to remember that it is set in a historical more ancient time. Where men where all almighty. So I'm a bit divided on this book. I liked it but in the same time I did (not) really! I found some of the character too stereotypic, like the princess. It was a good twist and the author in stretching the paragraphs with this new character and villain, could have further bother the reader thus brought deeper emotions and depths to the story. But that sadicism of me to add more of this in this read, because I must say I was anxious for the h.She is nice. But I found with to many things happening to her in a short time, reader time, made her too much a the victim of the circumstances then erased her character. I don't find her enough combative. She is too much subjugated by the prince and his handling of her. I know if she disappoint him, she risk her life and the ones of her entire family, but it would have been nice to see her found ways to counteract him. We know that he is besotted and would not hurt a hair from her, but she doesn't know and the process seeing her stretching (not pun intended) the limits until she understand that she has dare a lot would have add something. But those are just my view.It was interesting read. Many editing mistakes though!

Chosen by the Prince by Calyope Adams I've gotta say, that for a genre I don't typically read, this book had me under its spell. Somewhat a historical period romance. I usually steer clear. Calyope's writing had me hooked from the beginning. I was frantically turning pages quicker then I could ever imagine wanting to. This story, based long ago, has a sexy, adult, fariytalesque way of being told. If you love Princes & Princesses and hot, steamy sex, then look no further. This book is amazing. Jillian and Max are a force to be reckoned with. Don't wait to click. Grab your copy and load it up stat!! 5/5. I hope to read more from Calyope soon!

Say what? I read a Historical romance? Get out! I've always been against it, saying eh..that's not my thing. But this! This was great, I loved this book! I fell in love with Jillian and Max, Their story isn't a typical love story. And sure took a lot of work to get anywhere close to it! I couldn't read fast enough! There was no way I could have guessed how this story was going down. I formed a theory and then it was blown out of the water. There were ups and downs, fighting and loving making. I loved every single word! I can't wait to read more from this author, she has turned me into a historical romance reader!
