I hated this book. The handwriting specialist gets into some foul sad-masochism. i stopped reading this and deleted it from my Kindle.

Not everyone is interested in finding a mate. Sometimes a woman just wants to be left alone to work and enjoy a single life. Ivy is a copy editor who is married to her work. She is a workaholic forced to Crossroads by her family. Finally giving in, she comes up with a plan. She's going to avoid all males and snarl at anyone one looking her way.Ms. Masters somehow brings a swan and a snake together. Chuck is not just any snake. His background is moving. What Ivy can't resist is when she learns what Chuck does in his free time. He's not just the bartender; he writes books. What kind of books? He writes erotic romances under a pen name. How deliciously right he is for her. The little dance Ivy does with Chuck is amusing and sweet. When the two of them are together, they light up the page with chemistry. Ms. Masters does another masterful job at showing how a snake and water bird can be together. When Ivy finally falls, she falls hard. It's a fun to watch Chuck wind his way around her heart. This paranormal romance is recommended for romantics looking for a happily ever after.*provided by Manic Readers

So I am nearly done reading this book but in my head I cannot help but wonder is it really worth it me finishing it?Oh my gosh…Maybe let me start by saying the author has a promising idea but I feel like the story was too rushed. It went on a faster pace than the speed of light or somewhere close to t hat.I love me some paranormal romance but when I am being introduced to new idea in the paranormal I like a bit more of information and a bit more of elaboration so I can know exactly what is what and whose voice can make me shiver.Unfortunately for this book, the swan shifter and snake shifters did not make a whole lot of sense to me. I mean I know I am used to the werewolves and the more feline shifters but a snake…well maybe I am not liking the idea because I hate snakes.Do you know someone who hates snakes? Well I hate it more than he or she probably hates it.So let me get into the characters… what’s his name again oh yes, Chuck and the heroine is Ivy. So far they are already in love with each other and…Wait I am just sorry, let me cut this short and try to finish it…Thirty minutes later…Why did I continue huh?I should have just stopped with this…One star!

A really good story that put me in a happy place!I have liked Chuck since the first book he appeared in and was eager to hear more of his story. His side job was a bit of a surprise but very interesting. I was a touch annoyed that his back story changed from what we were told in the previous book. I like consistency.Ivy is my kind of gal, spunky and independent! And she is just like me, more a reader/reviewer than a writer. I was all for her mating Chuck. They had a great dynamic and I loved the dialogue between them. The steam is hotter this time around and there is a little more of it as well! Yeah! Although I am a bit iffy on half shifted bedroom action. A little too kinky even for me!I will admit after the initial hookup the story dragged a tiny bit. But it is a short read and it picks up again fairly quickly. Can not wait for the next book! Another bear shifter makes her way to the Crossroads! Yeah!

Loved itLoved Chuck and Ivy! Ivy was ambushed by her family, seems she has been avoiding, resisting, and making up some far fetched reason for not finding a mate, for the last five years. Very un swan like behavior. Desperate times and all get her a one month stay at Crossroads. Her plan, hide in a dark corner and read, review and edit books, until the month is over and she can go home free of further attempts to find a mate.Chuck is a Naga snake shifter. He tends bar and writes romance novels. Ivy has his caught his eye. He helps her hide, engages in some light flirting, and plots his next heroine. Loved Chuck's marriage proposal!A fun fast paced and steamy story.

I enjoy Zenina Masters' books. Her characters are fun and generally there is a nice twist for why they have to go to the crossroads. I do however have a problem with the fact that her books are pretty formulaic. There have been exceptions to this and I still enjoy the book regardless, but I can pretty easily predict how the books will read. Also, this is a picky thing, but I wish she would use contractions in her writing. It throws off the flow of her otherwise nice writing style because it comes off as too formal and stilted.

Quick & seriously sexy reads about unlikely shifters meeting on an alternate plane at the Crossroads. A place where shifters go when they're out of options and can't find a mate anywhere else. Each book moves into the next revisiting some of the previous characters.I loved Chuck and was happy after his terrible childhood that he found love and got to get a clean slate kinda sorta :-)

I'm glad Chuck found his mate, he sure deserved love after having such a nightmare childhood. His mate being a swan was pretty surprising but it did work well. I liked Ivy a lot she was a very amusing character.
