donovan s struggle Reviews
I had tried reading erotica before, but it never really worked for me. Right until the moment where Rosalind contacted me asking for a review of one of her short stories. I told her erotica normally wasn’t my thing, but I was willing to give it a try, her books did intrigue me when I read some reviews ect. The truth? I loved The Submission of Giuliana, and was pleasantly surprised. When reading erotica, to me, it is very important that there is a story. So, Rosalind opened up a new genre for me, for which I’m grateful. I made the mistake of reading Donovan’s Struggle in school. *blushes* Don’t get me wrong, I like it very much, it was toe curling in a good way – school just isn’t the best place to read toe curling things. Especially if you’re prone to blushing easily. *I’m sure you get my point by now*I was a little bit confused with the story line, but I’m sure it was only due to the fact I haven’t read the first book in her series; Cailìn. (third book just released) I did like the story in Donovan’s Struggle, and am looking forward to reading more in 2014. I am curious about Aislinn’s disappearance, want to know where she went, and how her story unfolds. I have Cailìn and Soeis on my kindle…. :-PIf you’re not sure whether erotica might be for you or not (and keep in mind, erotica is different for everyone, like everything else), I will definitely recommend Rosalind Scarlett!
This story was a lot less naughty than Giuliana's story (because that lady pretty much does EVERYTHING) but it still scored high on the hotness index. In fact, Donovan and Aislinn veer heavily toward sweet in the romance department while still dipping into the sexy. As it turns out, I am a big fan of the sexy. WHO KNEW?!?I will say that it took a little longer to fall into Donovan's world that it did with Giuliana. I think this was mostly because of his speech patterns. It took a bit to get into the rhythm of his "me" for "my" and whatnot. In the long run, it didn't distract too much but it did slow down my immediate immersion in this world. That said, I enjoyed the book. It's fast. It's naughty. It's sweet. There's a touch of mystery to what happens that I found intriguing. I liked that Aislinn wasn't concerned about the conventions that were expected of a young lady in that day and age. I also liked that Donovan was just as determined to do right by her and wait for their wedding night before having his wicked way with her.Short, sweet, and nicely naughty. *thumbs up*-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal
~3.5 Stars~I liked this novella because Donovan was so admirable. He was head over heels with Aislinn and she wants to consummate the relationship. He refuses because he wants to wait until their wedding day. Aislinn pressures him a lot and she uses all of her feminine wiles to get him to break. During a rain storm she goes above and beyond on the seduction. It was nice seeing a girl being the aggressor and the man trying to save her virtue. Usually the women in historicals are very worried about what society thinks and it was refreshing to see a woman not care. This book is extremely heavy on the sweet and romance. It was a bit of a different read for me but I still liked it. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and I think it might have helped me. The speech was a little hard for me at first but I got used to it. I was a bit confused at times and had to re-read some paragraphs but all in all it was a short, sweet and fun read. I will be looking into the rest series just as soon as I can.
“Donovan’s Struggle” is a highly erotic novella which portrays a man’s struggle to keep the virtues of his voluptuous red headed true love pure for their wedding day. We as readers get an inside look into Donovan’s innermost thoughts of what he wishes to do to her (he is not quite as prude as she thinks!) The reader’s thoughts get a chance to swirl around the erotic escapades of a man and a woman who are trying their best to stay pure until they wed. Rosalind Scarlett’s most recent Novella is full of sexually erotic scenes which are a pleasure to consume, and will awaken any carnal appetite one may have!
Not a book for me. Too much sex, to little plot.
