Decades ago I spent some time courtesy of Uncle Sam in South Korea, much of it sitting in full chem gear in an underground command and control bunker. This novel took me right back there. It was if I had never left. The tension, the military hardware and culture, all are masterfully described. I read the book in one sitting on a flight back to the U.S. from Europe. I especially loved the character development and "that feeling of just not wanting to stop reading." I'm looking forward to reading the next book by Hangge. He's an undiscovered master of the thriller!

Military fiction about the tense situation between the two Koreas, the hypothetical invasion of South Korea and the not far-fetched possibilities of world conflict. I got insights about how power works and how tyrants manage to tilt everything to their own favor, characteristic of all these megalomaniacs we have read so much in the history of nations. The only problem is that it ended in: to be continued.... which I hate.

Extremely riveting. Too real to believe.

Started pretty slow. Got interesting. Then ended abruptly. I would have liked to have seen a better developed story and more fulfilling ending
