Drew Lindsay weaves a fantastic story. His character development is great. By the end of the first chapter, you know exactly who the main character is, and you are rooting for him. The plot weaves several different story lines together in a way that is easy to follow and yet keep, you trying to figure out how he will tie them together. Lots of action, without being gory, and clean!! This was a story you want to read start to finish, and then grab the next one and keep going.

This is a very good series. The ebooks are about 700 pages but it goes by quickly. Looking forward to reading the rest.

I loved this book. It was fast paced and had an interesting story line. It was set in Australia. I thought character development was very interesting.

Ben Hood is a Sydney policeman who is placed on leave for shooting two people against police procedure. He goes back to Karate training and joins a security company where he is placed on assignment to protect the object of a strange obsession, Brenda Grant, in tropical Port Douglas. While there, he stumbles across a strange mystery. A woman's husband has gone missing and there is mystery surrounding nearby skull island. Believing the two are connected, Ben sets out on a one man mission to find out the truth.I enjoyed this mainly for the setting. I know all of the places in this book rather well so reading it was like reading about a neighbour, albeit a strange one. For the most part the story was interesting and kept me turning the pages but left me scratching my head at times. The bad guys weren't very smart and Ben went from married loser to 'White Knight', winning the affections of every woman within five meters far too easily. Even if he was likeable, it was a bit of a stretch. It's for that reason that I only scored this 2.5*

I liked the book, and really deserved much more than the 2* I have given it. BUT if a book is published, whether on the internet, or as a paper book, I do expect some effort to have been made with regard to spelling mistakes, use of the apostrophe, and grammar generally. Such a shame as the story was interesting and fast paced at times. Please Mr Lindsay get someone to act as your copy reader or editor. Sorry, but a story spoiled for me.

Action, suspense, humour and sensuality... Everything you ask in a pulp fiction book. The main character Ben Hood is very likeable and real (not a super human macho hero) and the other characters in the book are very well developed - the first 120 pages don't have much action, but the set up allows you to know and relate with all the characters when the roller coaster begins. The story is good and keeps you turning pages fast (or clicking on the screen), always with a grin on your face, because there are lots of "comic reliefs", but very well balanced without being silly. This is the perfect summer reading! I realise that there are 30 books (!!!) on the Ben Hood series, will definitely check some more... Try this first installment, it's free on Amazon store!

Ben is a former police officer turned PI. He doesn't always play by the rules, so being a PI fits his personality. Ben, trained in martial arts, is lethal with his hands. He's got his own code of ethics and beautiful women are his achilles heel. Ben has a knack for trouble and is usually in the thick of the action. The book is fast paced. If you like your main character to be a bit unorthodox, then the you'll like the Ben Hood series.

This is book number one in the Ben Hood(anAustralian police detective who becomes a private detective/body guard) series that. I read books two and three first and I'm now reading book number one. Ben is a compelling and violent character with a strong code about what he believes is right and wrong.

I liked it. Quick read! First book of the Ben Hood series. Enjoyable book. There are seven Ben Hood books and I have read this one and the third one. Both good and very enjoyable. About to start Black Mountain Affair (Ben Hood #2).
