This story is a bit of magic realism about an elderly farmer who begins to fly. I only discovered this story due to the teaser at the end of James Potter and the Hall of Elders. Unfortunately the story was not engrossing enough for me to actually pay money to continue reading. There was nothing particularly interesting about the character nor was the writing particularly clever, suspenseful, magical, or humorous. PLUS when I follow the link to purchase the book it cost $25.99 for a 107 page book!? Um no, I don’t think so.

I absolutely love this short story about a normal, mild- mannered man who has unexpected powers and revelations bestowed upon him. It's a delightful, easy read and made me laugh out loud at times, as well as feel a romantic tug in my heart a couple of times. The ending is so unexpected--I just love stories like this. I couldn't put the book down, and will probably read it again, at least once, which I don't normally do.

I hope Mr. Lippert get his 'big' break. Not just because he is a very good story teller but also, selfishly, so he can finish the James Potter series which he started and for which he gets zero compensation.

Wow! Great! Surprising ending! Felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone!
